The challenge
Albion Online has a player-driven economy: almost every item is crafted, traded and lost by players, and each city on each of the three game servers has its own market. Traders and crafters who want to profit have to know where an item is cheapest, what sells, and what players keep losing in fights and need to buy again.
BlackMarkety set out to answer those questions in one place. The data comes from two public sources: the community-run Albion Online Data Project for market prices and live orders, and the game's kill feed for what players lose. Both are large and uneven, rate-limited, and sometimes slow. The product had to turn them into fast, trustworthy answers in English and Thai, and run as a paid service with free and Pro plans.

What we built
We built BlackMarkety as a Go API with a TanStack Start web app, background workers that collect the game data around the clock, and a back office for the team.
- Market — prices for every city on the Asia, Europe and Americas servers, from both periodic snapshots and a live order feed. Items nobody is selling get a clearly labelled estimate from their crafting cost, another server or a neighbouring tier.
- Demand — a collector reads the kill feed every 30 seconds and rolls up what players lose each hour. That produces the most-replaced gear, the guilds that die most and what they wear, when deaths peak, and ranked "what to sell now" suggestions.
- Player tools — a trade ledger for profit tracking, a loadout builder, regear costing for guild battles, and crafting calculators.
- Accounts and billing — Ory Kratos sign-in with email and password, passkeys or Google, and Stripe subscriptions. Plans, prices and which features each plan unlocks are managed in the back office.
- Back office — users and subscriptions, plan editing, worker monitoring, an audit log of admin actions, and first-party usage analytics showing which pages and features people use.
- Performance — a Redis cache with a background sync that precomputes demand for every server and time range. Pages open with stored data instead of waiting for upstream APIs, and public data is cached at Cloudflare's edge.

The result
We delivered the product end to end: the Go API and workers, the bilingual web app, the Stripe billing and back office, and production hosting on Railway behind Cloudflare.
Market and demand data refresh continuously and are kept for 35 days, and precomputed answers let the busiest pages load in a fraction of a second on every server. The team manages plans, pricing and users without code changes. BlackMarkety is live at blackmarkety.com.
